Two holiday seasons ago, City Lights staged the the Pride and Prejudice sequel Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley. This new play by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon looks at what was going on downstairs instead, following the servants as they navigate their own comedy of manners — as well as a potential scandal when Lydia Bennet Wickham’s rakish husband stumbles through the door in the middle of the night.
