East meets West at these 33 acres of gardens which contain aromatic plants, an area dedicated to California native plants, and a cypress tree said to be a descendant of the tree in Greece under which Hippocrates taught his medical students. The most distinctive part of the park is the Chinese Cultural Garden, whose features include a bronze statue of Confucius; a pagoda-style Memorial House dedicated to Dr. Sun Yat-Sen; and the Chiang Kai-Shek Pavilion.
